Irene J's Dead End. Irene J's was literally at the dead end of 2nd street south of Maple. It was a hole in the wall kind of place that was rather plain and perfect for raw hardcore punk. Plus it was out of the way of main streets and neighbors - loudness wasn't a problem in that industrial area. Looking back, there were quite a few national acts that played there. But then, aside from Niko's, Irene J's was the only other place for hardcore punk shows. Now there's a motorcycle club in the building. We suggest you don't get too close. The old factory next door is now full of condos. Yup.
