Avant Garde. The Avant Garde Coffeehouse was located on 2111 N. Prospect Ave. It was open from 1962 to 1968 and it featured performances by local and national folk musicians and poets. The posters in this collection were created by Jim Barker. (Many thanks to Richard Weening and Carol Ann Garner for submitting these posters!)
